Over the last few years AOSpine has developed some innovative and groundbreaking educational initiatives, which have put our organization amongst the top in the field of medical education. Standardized Principles Course
The "course in a box" was designed to assist chairpersons in delivering 2-day face-to-face events aimed at providing a multipathology introduction to spine surgery. Introduced in 2011, this course has global standards and is designed for junior spine surgeons. Learn more
Faculty development programs
AOSpine faculty development programs cover all levels (from Faculty to Educational Advisors) and there are specific training programs for each role. AO is the only medical education organization that conducts such in-depth faculty development. Learn more
Evaluation & Assessment
AOSpine takes the evaluation and assessment needed for CME accreditation one step further; we use feedback from our events to improve future education, and are continuously enhancing our educational offerings based on the information received.
Webinars
With a vast number of particpants since 2011, this innovative method of delivering education has proved so popular that more are being planned. Popular topics focused on degeneration and were viewed by surgeons around the world. Learn more
First launched in Davos in 2013, the Surgery Reference tool has been accessed an average of 1,000 times per week and 140,000 people have downloaded the app. A second module (thoracolumbar trauma) will be launched at the Davos 2014 courses. Learn more
Continuing Education Program
Created and implemented by AOSpine Latin America, the CEP (previously known as the Diploma Project) is an educational program focused on doctors’ continued education. It is designed exclusively for AOSpine members. Learn more
The AOSpine Faculty Center is an online hub that comprises resources for AOSpine faculty members including archived editions of the FacultyFocus, a standardized principles course package, a faculty case library, faculty support packages, and online training material. Learn more
