Impact Factor and new look

The next breaking news will be the Impact Factor for GSJ, which is released in June 2020. All GSJ issues from Vol 7 (1) onwards will be indexed in the Clarivate Analytics Journal Citations Report. At the same time, we will reveal our fresh new visuals with a new impactful cover.

GSJ also recognizes the impact of COVID-19. GSJ is still up and running and we are accepting submissions currently including COVID-19 related manuscripts. We understand that reviews and production may take longer due to COVID-19 and we are committed to safety. We would like to extend a big thank you to all our authors and reviewers who are continuing to submit and review for GSJ at this time. We don’t foresee any production delays, but we will keep everyone updated as things come along. GSJ will be publishing some COVID-19 content as well, so please stay tuned for updates and posts about this on the social media.

Survey on anti-coagulation

Some months ago, AO Spine designed and distributed a questionnaire on anti-coagulation amongst our surgeon members. The study addresses the global perspectives concerning perioperative use of pharmacologic thromboprophylaxis during spine surgery along with its risks and benefits.

The survey highlights the heterogeneity of spine care and accentuates geographical variations. Furthermore, it identifies the difficulty in providing consistent perioperative anticoagulation recommendations to patients, as there remains no widely accepted definitive literature of evidence or guidelines.

We thank our members for your contribution and invite you to read the full paper “Perioperative Anticoagulation Management in Spine Surgery: Initial Findings From the AO Spine Anticoagulation Global Survey” online.

This article is one of a few in a series that will be published this year, so stay tuned for more articles on this topic!

The GSJ June issue is live and you can read it here. You can also download the entire issue to read offline later.
