AOSpine Davos Courses 2015 news

Discover why participants and faculty at last year's Davos Courses found it to be an unmissable experience in our new video.

Interview with
Davos Courses Director

We interviewed Mike Grevitt, Davos Courses Director and Chairperson of the AOSpine Education Commission about
what to expect at the Davos Courses.

What can participants expect for the 2015 Davos Courses?

Participants can expect a unique educational environment, interaction with global key opinion leaders and the opportunity for professional networking and knowledge sharing.  They will also get to experience the traditional, welcoming Davos Courses atmosphere at events such as the Meet your Faculty Reception or the AO World Night where you can interact with participants of other specialties.

What are the main benefits of the AOSpine Masters level educational format?

Attending surgeons are able to choose their course topics depending on their own individual needs. In addition, there is a high level of experiential learning based around case discussions which are supported by lectures from acknowledged experts.

What can you say about the 60 Faculty members that will be teaching at the Davos Courses?

The AOSpine Davos Courses faculty is composed of the ‘crème de la crème’ of spinal surgeons and they are fully prepared to deliver an extraordinary educational experience. All faculty members are true experts in their fields and have completed formal educator training.

How can attending the Davos Courses help spine surgeons in their day-to-day work?

Since the course content is carefully designed to be in line with the wishes and needs of the AOSpine community, the courses will inevitably involve clinical problems that arise in daily practice. The format allows an appropriate combination of discussions on various treatments and practical solutions.

What is different at this year's Davos Courses?

To meet all participants' demand we have increased the number of seats of the "Lumbar Degenerative Disease Module". We have created two different sessions of "Solution for Complex Cases"- one focused on complex degenerative cases and another one on complex trauma cases. Additionally we have added a new module focused on "Spinal Tumors and Oncology".
