AOSpine Knowledge Forums present at Global Spine Congress
We are excited to announce that the AOSpine Knowledge Forums (KFs) will be actively present throughout the Global Spine Congress 2016. The KFs will be involved in the complementary precourses as well as various symposia. This is a unique opportunity to engage and interact with the key opinion leaders in the spine pathology fields of tumor, spinal cord injury, degenerative/ biologics, deformity, and trauma.
Knowledge Forum Tumor Precourse: The Current Concepts in the Management of Spine Oncology.

The fundamental principles and current treatment regimes for the appropriate management of metastatic and primary tumor spine disease will be discussed. Attendees will be able to observe and participate in debates and case-based discussions lead by international key opinion leaders in spine oncology.
Knowledge Forum Spinal Cord Injury Precourse: Management of spinal cord injury: Best Practice Based on the Latest Evidence

The future AOSpine Guidelines for the management and treatment of acute spinal cord injury will be discussed in this session. Attendees will learn about the GRADE process that leads to the guidelines development. Key discussions will be the use of methylprednisolone, the use of MRI and the timing of surgical intervention. Participants will have also case-base discussions with the key opinion leaders in this field.
Knowledge Forum Degenerative/ Biologics Symposium: Update on Graft Material ACDF.

This group of international leaders will present the latest research on graft materials for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. A debate will follow after the introduction of every graft material and at the end of the session participants will have the opportunity to have a case-based discussion with a panel of specialists.
Knowledge Forum Deformity Symposium: Adolescent Deformity.

Consensus among an international group of experts of what constitutes optimal operative care for adolescent idiopathic deformity patients will be presented. Specific case-based discussions will focus on preoperative evaluation and preparation, intraoperative strategies, shoulder balance and proximal junctional kyphosis.
Knowledge Forum Deformity Symposium: Adult Spinal Deformity.

International leaders will present on the management of adult spinal deformity and discuss what is considered appropriate, reasonable, and inappropriate to guide decision-making and informed choice. Preoperative evaluation and preparation, intraoperative strategies for deformity correction, and postoperative management strategies will be covered through case presentations and panel discussions.
Knowledge Forum Trauma Symposium: Cervical Spine Trauma.
April 16, 2016 from 8:00-9:00
The KF Trauma has been working on the development of outcome measures for spine trauma. Participants will hear about the systematic approach followed for cervical outcome tools. Treatment options for cervical spine trauma with and without SCI will follow. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the last proposed AOSpine Upper Cervical Classification including a final panel discussion with the key opinion leaders from the KFs SCI and Trauma.
