Announcing the first Mentorship Education Mentor and Mentee Pairs
After some extensive planning AOSpine International is very pleased to announce the first ever Mentor and Mentee pairs who have enrolled in the AOSpine Mentorship Education.
The highly qualified Mentee's are Luigi Nasto (UK), Carolin Melcher (Germany) and Ghazwan Hassan (Iraq) and they are paired with Jeffrey Wang, Roger Härtl and Alexander Vaccaro respectively.
As all three Mentors are based in the USA the first face to face meeting to start the relationships will be held in New York, USA in June 2016.
The meeting will take place over 1.5 days during which the pairs will establish what they want to gain from this unique experience and how they will best achieve their personal goals. Educator Joseph Green will also be on hand to offer Mentoring training to the three Mentors and guide the meeting.
"We have the creme de la creme in terms of mentees and also engagement of key opinion leaders as mentors. This scheme will serve as an exemplar in nurturing our most talented young surgeons and there will be more updates on their progress through the scheme. "
— Mike Grevitt, Chairperson AOSEC
The AOSpine Mentorship Education is the brain child of AOSEC Chairperson Mike Grevitt who said.
"I am very excited by the eventual launch of our mentorship scheme for education. It is a concept that I have been nurturing for years and follows on from the success of a similar project managed by the Research Commission. We have the creme de la creme in terms of mentees and also engagement of key opinion leaders as mentors. This scheme will serve as an exemplar in nurturing our most talented young surgeons and there will be more updates on their progress through the scheme. My congratulations to the successful applicants and on behalf of the AOSEC I wish them very success in this new venture."
AOSpine International would like to congratulate the Mentees and wish them well on their exciting journey with their Mentors.

Past Fellows Dinner in Dubai
Since AOSpine's inception young surgeons around the world have been traveling to AOSpine Spine Centers to participate in a Fellowship program. The experiences, skills and knowledge gained have been instrumental for the Fellows' further development.
During the Global Spine Congress in Dubai Past Fellows are invited to a dinner to meet their colleagues from around the world and to enjoy some good food in good company. This occasion offers a unique opportunity to network, to exchange experiences and to make new friends. The evening is planned for Thursday 14th April.
In the future AOSpine plans to hold more Past Fellows events in order to strengthen the Fellows community.
